If you are an artist or theatre-maker in the NYC area interested in getting involved on a deeper level and would like to meet up for conversation, please reach out! One (or both!) of Step1’s Artistic Directors may be able to treat you to a coffee and get into conversation about your interests.
R & D (Reading & Drinking) Submissions
Reading & Drinking (also known as "R&D") is a free, informal gathering of artists where you can BYOB and Read & Develop new works & works in progress by local independent playwrights. Pieces range from short plays, full lengths, and musical excerpts. Our intention is to create a comfortable, judgement-free space for playwrights to present their work, hear their plays read aloud by local volunteer independent actors, and exchange a dialogue designed to provide insight on how to develop the piece further.
