R&D Spring Session 2019
Into the River I Went by Nelson Diaz-Marcano
Presented by Step1 Theatre Project at The Artist Co-Op
Friday, April 26th @ 7PM
Content Warning: This session's material will address sensitive topics like classism, racism, and sexual violence.

Raquel and Ben are high school sweethearts who have gotten engaged to the dismay of his sister, Janet. The two women have been pitted against each other since the day they met by class, culture, and gender expectations. Suddenly they find themselves forced to work together to fight a violent beast that stalks them. Can they come to an understanding in time or will they fall prey to the beast?

What is R&D?
...Ours stands for Reading & Drinking!...

R&D is a free, informal gathering of artists invited to have a (totally optional) drink or two while volunteer performers read new works/ works-in-progress by independent playwrights. Past R&D pieces have ranged from short plays, one-acts, full lengths, to musical excerpts. Our free developmental reading series creates a laid-back environment for hearing pieces aloud while offering an opportunity for feedback.

Are you a playwright with a new/developing piece you wanna hear out loud (but aren't trying to drain your own resources $$$ to put up a reading on your own)? Let us do it! Submit your works for consideration for R & D! All lengths and genres accepted.
